First Missionary Work Completed

Paul suffered greatly for the gospel, but he was not dismayed. The next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe, where they preached and gained a group of believers. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith in the midst of many tribulations. As the number of believers increased, they appointed elders in every church. After that they went south; going through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia and preached in Perga. Then they went down to Attalia and from there they sailed to Antioch (Acts 14:2128).
