Paul Sails for Rome

Festus delivered Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, who belonged to the Imperial Regiment to sail for Rome. Other than Paul, his co-workers Aritarchus and Luke also went along.

Julius took the prisoners aboard a ship from Adramyttium about to sail for ports along the coasts of Asia. The next day they landed at Sidon. Julius, in kindness to Paul, allowed him to go ashore to meet the Christians there. From Sidon, they continued to sail towards Italy. They sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the winds were against them. When they came to Myra, a city of Lycia, the centurion found an Alexandrian ship sailing for Italy, and he put Paul and other prisoners on board (Acts 27:16).
