Sin SinSin Sin

The Bible says, 覀茽or all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God仮 (Rom. 3:23). 覀茽or there is no one who does not sin仮 (1 Kings 8:46). Yet most people deny that they have ever sinned and say, 覀𦲀 have not committed murder or arson and have never been in prison. What sins have I committed?仮 But the Bible, the word of God, is like a mirror that reflects the true nature of men. 覀茽or the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men仮 (Rom. 1:18).

Who Are the Ungodly?

1. Those Who Don脌 Believe in God. Many reject God because they consider themselves smart, well-educated, wealthy, renowned, and healthy. They even think that admitting God䏭 existence is outdated and embarrassing. They are arrogant and disrespectful, ungodly, and pretentious. They strive for fame and gain, indulge in pleasures, and sin without restraint, because they think that no one is watching. But God says, 𤧶or My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity hidden from My eyes (Jer. 16:17). Everyone, even kings and heads of state, will one day leave the world and be judged before God. 覀𦵑nd as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment仮 (Heb. 9:27). If one does not acknowledge God while he is still alive, how will he escape the wrath of God on that Day? It is hard to kick against the pricks. Those who do not believe in God will suffer in the end!

2. Those Who Despise God. Many people acknowledge the existence of a Sovereign Lord of the universe, which is a fact. Although God cannot be seen with our naked eyes, His existence can be clearly seen from the things He made, so that men are without excuse. Look at the sun, moon, and stars all moving in their orbits; and the mountains, rivers, and seas marking boundaries. Men and animals, birds and fish, trees and flowers all have life. O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom of the Creator! Even though these people do not deny God䏭 existence, they are reluctant to turn to Him. When invited to evangelical meetings, they would say that they have no time. But they do have time for smoking, drinking, gambling, reveling, and other amusements. Every day, they seek false happiness that can脌 solve their problems. They reject the salvation that God has prepared for them. 覀菭ow shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?仮 (Heb. 2:3). Do not be deceived. God is not mocked!

3. Those Who Worship False Gods. God says, 覀𦵑nd there is no other God besides Me, a just God and a Savior; there is none besides Me. Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other仮 (Isa. 45:2122). 覀𦲀 am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God仮 (Isa. 44:6). However, many people do not worship this Creator. Instead, they serve idols made by human hands㻳dols of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, stone, and clay. These are not God, but lifeless objects. They can脌 walk, talk, or listen to men䏭 prayers. Nor can they bring blessing or woe. If a fire breaks out, the idols themselves need to be removed by men, or they will be burned to ashes. Many families have idols in their living rooms, bedrooms, and even kitchens. They worship these idols with joss sticks and candles. Would God live in such filthy places? Certainly not! 覀𡜺od, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men䏭 hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things仮 (Acts 17:2425). 覀茽or his molded image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are futile, a work of errors; in the time of their punishment they shall perish仮 (Jer. 10:1415).Those who worship idols and the dead receive no blessings. Instead, they provoke the wrath of God.

Who Are the Unrighteous?

The following constitutes unrighteousness: evil thoughts, murders (including abortion, suicide, hating one another), adulteries, fornications, thefts (including stealing sacrifices offered to God), false witness, blasphemies and hypocrisy; covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, an evil eye, pride and being unforgiving; eating things offered to idols, blood and things strangled; strife and evil-mindedness; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters and inventors of evil things; being disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving and unmerciful; revelry, drunkenness and lewdness; idolaters (idols include people, objects and issues that take God䏭 place of worship in your heart), homosexuals, sodomites, revilers and extortionists; uncleanness, sorcery (including seeking fortunetellers, astrologers and mediums), hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions and heresies (distortions of the truth);bitterness, anger and loud quarreling; filthiness, foolish talking and coarse jesting; lovers of themselves and lovers of money; unthankful, unholy, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure (including smoking, gambling, movie-going and dancing), not lovers of God (seldom praying or reading the Bible, not trusting or obeying God, not being faithful to God, and having no concern for the things of God); having an evil heart of unbelief (not trusting the word of God) and doubting; the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable and liars; rebellion (disobeying the word of God), stubbornness and evildoing; not walking uprightly, not working righteousness, lending money with usury, and taking a bribe against the innocent; perjurers, those who exploit wage earners and widows and the fatherless, those who turn away a foreigner, and those who do not fear God. (See Matt. 15:19, 23:13; Mark 7:22, 11:26; Acts 15:29; Rom.1:2931, 13:13; 1 Cor. 6:10; Gal. 5:1920; Eph. 4:31, 5:34; 2 Tim.3:24; Heb. 3:12; James 1:6; Rev. 21:8; 1 Sam. 15:23; Ps. 15:2,5; Mal. 3:5.)

Having read God䏭 word, who still dares to insist before God that he is without sin? Today the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one (the devil). People are bound and controlled by the power of sin. They commit sins knowingly. They love to sin because the god of this world has blinded their eyes and prevented Christ䏭 glorious gospel from shining on them. Men follow Satan daily to rebel against God. As a result, the people of the world琼ings or commoners, rich or poor, wise or foolish, beautiful or ugly, young or old, male or female㼆annot escape the dreadful fate: death.
